Broadcast Services: this is where early evening programming and radio advertising go on air
We take the utmost care in handling radio advertising on the stations 1LIVE and WDR 2. From packaging to broadcasting to archiving the adverts. WDR mediagroup digital GmbH compiles the complete early evening programme for “Das Erste”, including national and regional advertising, for ARD and transmits it in a server-based workflow ready for broadcast to the ARD broadcasting centre.
The Broadcast Services department operates three green box studios connected to the ARD network with the option of transmitting in SRT streaming protocol. The post-production infrastructure consists of eight networked video editing stations. The video studio also records sign language versions of live broadcasts, edits them for online platforms and makes them available.
