Sign language interpreting

For many hearing-impaired people – especially children – sign language is often more familiar and accessible than written language. Especially during live broadcasts, fast-paced dialogues or emotional content, it enables a much more nuanced and immediate understanding than subtitles.

WDR mediagroup is one of the few providers in Germany that offers sign language interpreting as a complete service for live broadcasts and for immediate use in the on-demand sector – produced directly in its own video studios. This offer is open not only to ARD stations, but also to external clients.
