Attractive terms and appealing remuneration

With us, you benefit from an in-house collective agreement with attractive terms and conditions and a compelling overall package of remuneration and social benefits. Payment is based on collective agreements – with regular salary and wage increases, family allowances and Christmas bonuses. In addition, we offer above-average social benefits and 31 days of holiday, as well as time off on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Central location & optimal accessibility

Our location in the heart of Cologne city centre not only offers an attractive working environment, but also excellent transport links: the main railway station is within walking distance, as are the “Heumarkt”, “Neumarkt” and “Appellhofplatz” underground stations. To encourage environmentally friendly travel to and from the event, we subsidise the “Deutschlandticket”, which can also be used for private travel. Those arriving by car can use one of our underground parking spaces for a fee. And for your lunch break, there are plenty of options right on your doorstep: whether it’s a walk along the Rhine, shopping, running errands or lunch – here, you can clear your head for new ideas.

Flexible working & modern facilities

The weekly working time is 38.5 hours (excluding breaks) and is based on flexible working hours – without fixed core hours. Our team members work with state-of-the-art technology: each team member receives a laptop, supplemented by a company mobile phone or tablet depending on their area of responsibility. Those who want a concentrated environment can retreat to our “Maus Zimmer" – ideal for focused work away from multi-person offices.
Mobile working is regulated by a works agreement and enables a good balance between presence and remote office. In certain areas, operational requirements such as duty rosters or on-call duty apply. Under certain conditions, it is also possible to work remotely from abroad (workation).

Work-life balance

We support the compatibility of work, family and private life – with a wide range of measures and specific offers. Our cooperation partner provides support in all situations: from initial orientation to acute challenges. Whether at the annual WDR mediagroup GmbH group party in the form of a Christmas celebration or at the WDR summer party, to which our staff are also warmly invited – community is a top priority here. On “Weiberfastnacht”, we traditionally celebrate the start of Carnival at the WDR Funkhaus, in true Cologne style. If you like sports, you can take part in the Cologne company run B2Run. And for a quick break in the day, there is a table football table in Ludwigstraße – ideal for clearing your head together during your break.

At WDR mediagroup GmbH, enjoyment is not to be neglected either: every day, the WDR canteen offers a varied selection of fresh dishes at discounted prices – including vegetarian, vegan and halal options, prepared with regional ingredients. Right in the company building at Ludwigstraße 11, we also offer subsidised vegan meals in a partner restaurant. And those who enjoy eating out can benefit from discounts at various restaurants in Cologne city centre.
